When you knit up a yarn, it looks entirely different than it did in the skein. Now I'm seeing that when I spin up a fiber, it looks completely different than the fleece. I know it seems obvious, but it just amazes me. This stuff has been sitting around for a year and now I love it and want to knit it! It also had this really boring name, un-romantic: Grape. Oh, it's SO much more, people.

Even though I don't spin (and you can't make me!), the transformation of appearance from raw fiber to yarn to knitted fabric never ceases to amaze me. Grape? Nah, gotta be something better than that!
Both are beautiful, but yes, quite different.
