Cheater


Well, that's how I feel. I know it's a real method of spinning but this is what I did. I spun a single ply of laceweight merino and bamboo and then plied it with a strand of this lovely bamboo from Habu.

This is the still laceweight that I ended up with:

Brilliant! I plied those coral bats from Barbara with a strand of opalescent thread; kept it laceweight and gave just enough "bling". You might want to try plying with a strand of "wooly polyester" thread used for quilting. It's really stretchy, so if you stretch it when plying with a spun single, then you get an almost boucle effect. Hey, anything to stretch out our precious handspun!
