Missing Cat

Today I thought that Brahms was missing. From 11am on, I proceded to lose my mind as I scoured the apartment, then the neighborhood.

You see, I found a knocked over vase next to an open window (three flights up) and thought that she has made a really big mistake. Not to mention the mistake that I made in leaving the window open and leaving the room.

I brought out the tuna, the catnip, sent the other one to look for her. Nothing.

Then I decided I had to eat something because I was getting hysterical and went to the store two blocks away. On the way home I looked in every hedge and called her name. Nothing.

Then I came into my apartment and there she was, with tuna on her breath.

I think I just used up a REALLY HUGE favor from the universe.
I love this cat like no tomorrow. She has been with me for 13 year and is my soul-mate, or as another puts it, my familiar.

Thank you, Universe above. Posted by Picasa

I'm glad you found your cat and everything I love reading your journal... Also I learned to spin yesterday.... I love it...

brooklynne, my own spinning has been sitting to one side for a little while, as it's gotten so hot here this week. I'm glad you've gotten into it and that I prompted you to do so

The wee beasties do have quite a sense of humor, don't they?

Someone in a forum somewhere was bemoaning the fact that so many people have posted pictures of their cats wearing handknit items (hats, scarves, etc.) They were complaining that it's demeaning to the cat.

I thought, "That person obviously does not have a cat. OF COURSE it's demeaning. We call it REVENGE."

I suggest knitting your cat a shrug as revenge for having pretended to be lost. Be sure to take pics.

Erika, that is hysterical!
I love the idea.
I think it may be a spandex t-shirt though....
Don't ask.

It's amazing how these creatures can scare us, isn't it? I have trained myself not to panic when one of mine goes missing for a day (they are indoor/outdoor cats) but it has taken practice akin to buddhist teachings.

I'm surprised the cops didn't show up at my door to accuse me of catnapping...

Glad your kitty cat is safe.

My cat also is gone and can´t be found. Then all of a sudden she is visible and looks at me like she cannot understand what I was doing feverishly seeking for my best mate ever....

Oh my gosh - what a scare!

I don't know what I would do if my cat was missing. She's been my constant companion the last 13 years - thru everything with me.

I'm so glad that she was just being held hostage for tuna.
