Tweed Hat

This is from Knitters Fall 2006. I used a strand each of Rowen Tweed and a silk cashmere fingering weight to get to the right gauge. It came out rather smaller than I expected, but not smaller than they said. I just don't have a clear idea of head sizes I guess! It was fun to knit, but hard on the hands. Bulky yarn doing tight and scrunchy things. That's the only way I can describe it. Posted by Picasa

Oh! I've been looking for a neat, but simple hat pattern to make for my mother-out-law for the holidays. Hm, now I need to find the pattern. The other one is really beautiful as well - up to sharing the pattern?
